Neil's work is loose and spontaneous in pure bold colour. "The
sensuous movement of colour and how it relates to the composition
is my goal. I start with a loose value and simple line study and then
bring out the image by letting the painting take its own direction.
Immediate reaction is the driving force and feeling the response is
what you see. I try to create a story of my place".
During his many years of painting, Neil has shown his work
through out the United States and Canada and has his work in
numerous collections. He has taught many workshops as well
as teaching at Mount Pleasant Art Centre and Red Deer College.
Neil presently works out of his studio/gallery in Summerside, PEI.
"I believe life is a learning experience. The lessons I learn are
hopefully translated through my art so that others may participate
in the journey."
